Why are my downloads so slow?

I am downloading 2 things, and it's going at a whopping 24.4 kb/s. I would understand if it's becaue of my slow internet speeds, but downloads on Steam go up to 500 kb/s. What could be the problem?

cuz thats the max my laptop network card can do. heap of stuff claims it can do 100mb/s what a lie of the century

the problem is not on your end OP. different things are hosted on different servers with different upload/download speeds. servers need to upload to you, if their speeds are low, so will be yours.

But it's like that for all websites and all nrowsers. It might have something to do with the fact that I use DirectPath, the worst internet service ever.
