I hope you can at least catch up to them once your party size is over 40.
Sucks being asked to kill some bandits to gain the favour of another lord, only to find your large cavalry-based army can't keep up with 20 poverty-stricken bandits running through the cold hills in tattered clothes and no shoes.

I'm a castle taker, mate. You need your arrows when taking a castle. (Because everyone in Warband is a handicap, and decides that entering a castle with 1 shield facing forward while arrows are shot at you from left & right is the best method of capture)

On that note, I also seriously hope that there's some sort of system for choosing how to perform a siege, such as whether you'll intend to use ladders, siege towers, or even battering rams.
And if you can have multiple ladders and towers, so that sieges aren't just a case of numbers.
It's pretty terrible when you have 400 men who just get killed one at a time as they walk single-file up a ladder.

And a better system for food within towns would be nice, since towns in Warband all have food to last weeks and weeks, so there's absolutely no chance of sieging a town and starving them into submission, since in the time it takes to happen there will almost certainly be an attack by other armies, come to end the siege.

This should just be the mount and blade megathread or something.

It's nicer as a topic where we can just discuss how excited we are, rather than talking about different mods in my opinion :)

i agree that seige mode needs a lot of work. 90% standing on a ladder or stairway in a singlefile line waiting for your team or theirs to get massacred

There is already mods out for bannerlord. It took 3 days within the first announcement.

Gotta agree with ya, sieges are the biggest load of crap. I get that the defending force could be smaller than the invading force and still win due to the advantage of having walls, but Bannerlord needs to even it out a bit with maybe some siege engines: catapults, trebuchets, and ballista.

One of the games has those towers with wheels on them right?

We've been discussing them, they're called Seige Towers.

They are really loving useful when you're using the bridge version, and a real loving deathtrap when it's the ladder version.

I prefer ladders quite frankly. The siege towers give a few people protection, but because they're so loving slow a lot of my guys get picked off in the journey.

You can always use the "Stand Closer" command to make your men stand as close as possible to the Siege Engine.
This means you'll have more men stood behind it, in safety. You'll also have more people around it at the time, meaning it gets a small increase in movement speed, which can help.

If you still have issues with men getting shot to pieces in the wait, then you can use the Map in the Backspace Menu to send your non-shielded troops (such as Archers) to an area of the battlefield where they aren't within range of other archers.
That way your shielded cavalry and infantry units can huddle under shields near the siege tower, pushing it, and minimising damage.
Then when the Siege Tower reaches the wall and unloads, you can bring in the archers again, so that they can kill archers on the walls who will be focussed on your infantry/cavalry push.

Pssh, or I just rush the castle. :)

Losses are acceptable.
