Author Topic: Server Blacklisting  (Read 511 times)

In light of all this BlHack server crashing, I came up with a short idea to keep these troublemakers out. There would be a domain hosting a database, and trusted hosts and administrators could add ips and BL_IDs to the database. All servers that had the add-on would check the IP in the database to see if they could join or not. Similar to IP banning by Pecon, but it would be a sort of "net" where there could be a ton of servers accessing the database, and whenever a BLHACKER was spotted, the host could send their IP to administrators of the domain, they would evaluate it and could or could not add it to the domain of hackers, therefore, if the hacker tried to join another server with the add-on, it wouldn't let them because he would be on the database.

It's kind of hard to explain for me, but let me put it in other words;

Hacker joins server. Hacker gets caught (maybe it could team up with anti-crash to have it auto blacklist) and admin sends IP to administrator of domain. Administrator adds IP to database. All servers with blacklist add-on would auto IP ban the hacker.

I think this would be groundbreaking and could really put a stop to these guys.
