Author Topic: Rangefinder  (Read 1281 times)

Essentially, a handheld scope that counts how many studs/meters between the user and what they're aiming at, displaying the distance to the player.

I've not seen any item similar to yours, however I do have an item that does the 'distance finding' thing if anyone is willing to fix this up into a rangefinder

Thanks, I remember having this a long time ago, I completely forgot about it.

it seems like it'd be pretty easy to make, but it also seems useless. what do you want it for?

I plan to make a Battlefield 2-like map. Large-scale warfare, that sorta thing. I figured it'd be helpful for anyone using grenade launchers, since Gravity Cat's guns have grenade launchers with sights that need to be used at certain distances, due to the heavy projectile drop from the fired shell. The rangefinder would have been there to help grenadiers determine how high they need to aim to hit their target.

Edit: I'm thinking of a ladder sight

hey
make a gun that does this rangefinding, but it will also calculate how long it'll take for the bullet to reach that point

That was another thing I thought about with the rangefinder, it could be used with guns with any gun with projectile drop. It'd probably take practice, but I think it would help a lot.

that still seems kinda pointless, if it's just a grenade launcher. I mean, it's an explosive for one thing, and it shouldn't have to go far, so there's not that much need to be perfectly accurate. the ladder sight is most likely not accurate anyway

Hmm, never thought of it that way actually.

I can swear the laser pointer had a rangefinding script
