What happened was she was experiencing the pain from the bruise while asleep and her brain concocted a scenario in which she would feel that pain. Sensory perception is often incorporated into dreams.

That doesn't look like a bruise to me. At least not like she whacked her arm against something in her sleep. I would recommend she sees a doctor, it looks pretty bad.

Yes, dreams can magically give you bruises. They can also cut your hands off, and if you die in your dream you die in real life so be careful.

I had a dream where I was trying to save someone from a tribe of South American natives. I ended up with a spear through my gut. Although I ended up unconscious within my dream and hospitalized, I woke up and didn't find a spear inside me or a hole in my abdomen.

But there was a time when I was asleep and a 5.0+ sized earthquake hit in the wee hours of the morning. I didn't wake up, but there was excruciatingly loud thunder in my dream that night.

No, I'm serious. When you're asleep, your brain waves become super powerful, and your mind uses telekinesis to hurt your body in any number of ways.
