Using an adapter for it to be outside of the case? That's what people use for laptops, but just wondering if it will work for desktops

You can't upgrade anything on your computer besides ram and hard drive.

actually look into the hardware capabilities in terms of size and form factor next time you look into getting a new computer

even if you were able to do that you'd be better off just building a new computer from scratch.

i'm pretty sure he got it as a gift so don't start stuffting on him because his parents/whoever got it for him was clueless.

Yep, as a gift

Try to sell it to some other poor chap,

maybe you'll collect enough money from the sucker to invest in a real machine.

You will need a new mobo, if your computer is that old then you need to get a new processor aswell. And new RAM sticks.

I Googled around hoping you could upgrade the CPU, because there's an A10 with integrated R7 graphics, but it looks like the CPU is a super low TDP soldiered on deal, so you're kinda SOL.

What has led you to determine that it's old?

I love how the board is a low-profile board but they put it in a MicroATX case.  It's like they're deliberately trying to fool morons into buying this stuff.
Sell this stuff on craigslist or whatever and purchase a real PC.

I'm sorry op, but this isn't a computer, is a loving toaster inside of case. There is absolutely positively no way you're going to upgrade or install a graphics card on this computer. If you try to upgrade it all you're going to find yourself in is a hassle so much to the point that it's actually more beneficial to build your own computer.

Like the others said sell this to some smuck online and use that money to get yourself some parts and build a pc that meets your needs and doesn't have a layout and parts that are stuff.
