I just think personaly, that there should be an option when you start a server to use a map, or the slate wastes or V21. Because then you'd have both the modern, and the Ancient.

Exactly. I just feel like there should at least be an option.

Highly doubtful, the devs and most of the community already put it behind them.

But you can still play v20 or lower by looking it up and downloading it. I know that's not really what you want, but that's the closest you'll come.

Or we can make a terrain template megathread topic in gallery, where anyone can share their build shaves. Then you'd load as public Bricks and badda bing badda boom.

Why, WHY, would this incredible aspect of the game be removed.
Here are my possibilities:
1. They may have been too laggy for older generation computers.
2. You have to totally reset the whole game to change the map.
3. Badspot knew that static shapes were going to be left, and kept 'static maps' a secret, until someone made them. There is a addon that adds static maps to your game, in the environment menu. It even has the classic bedroom :D

Still, may the reason be unknown.

NoEdit: The add-on for the so-called static maps is called System_StaticMaps

1. That is very invalid, considering the fact that shaders cannot be handled by some computers anyway
2. Function still exists
3. Where did you heard that from, Badspot never said anything about that

The reason is not unknown, Badspot removed maps just to speed up the process of shaders

Your bump was not needed, please check the dates of the latest post of a thread before you post in it

What the junk are you talking about?

The maps were a major hang-up for future progression of the game.
Even though Badspot has been doing almost nothing major to progress with the game since shadows and shaders...

I really want them back. I like em much better then those useless, overrated shader BS. Unfortunately, since most people's opinion is the opposite of mine, I don't think they'll be coming back :(

He's done a ton of bug fixes that were dearly needed, including one that prevents server crashing... I'd call that major.

only one i cared about surprisingly was the slope. it was great for tdms
