Author Topic: [Request] Convoluted Gamemode Ideas || FPS Classes  (Read 719 times)

Hey guys, this is kinda the reverse of what you usually find on here. I'm asking you guys for ideas for gamemodes. If it's good, and I make the gamemode, I'll give you a lot of credit. Note that I'm a scripter, and not a modeller. If your idea contains a bunch of guns or something, I'd probably need help on that, or not do it at all.

I was thinking of making an FPS, so if you don't have any gamemode ideas it'd be cool if you spoke your mind if you have a class idea. Here's a list of the ones that I have so far:

Complete:
Aurora: Can press R to summon auroras around her, which have varying effects. Currently there are healing, damage, and speed auroras. Effects teammates. (Support)

Curser: A class that does not operate with weapons, but with curses. He can curse someone with lower damage, slower speed, and smaller size. He also can spawn miniature black holes in locations in space, that suck people in.

Exploder: A class that sets a location in space, and then later he can trigger different types of explosions to happen at that area, with a cooldown. The explosions are velocity (sends everyone flying), slowdown, a regular explosion, and a fire explosion. Scrapped.

Knight: A melee-based class, who's general power grows with every person he kills. He can press R to charge rapidly.

Burster: A very high damage class, that is very slow. Practically immobile. Yet, when he presses R he gets a very fast burst of 10-second speed. He's designed to hold over areas. Scrapped.

Possessor: An arcane class that skips around the map unseen. He has no weapons, but when he presses R he can control someone's body for a short 5-second span. During this time, if he presses the jet key he can straight up make them Self Delete. For every person he kills, his soul count grows. He can use souls to feign his death.

Time-Traveller: A speedy class that is able to get into the meat of a fight, and make risky decisions. This is because he can use his ability to restore his state from five seconds ago, complete with health and position. He can also dash around, making him hard to hit and very agile.

Black Hole: A class with an instant-kill melee weapon, and nothing else. He has the ability to attract players towards him, so he can stab them.

Incomplete:

Phaser: A class equipt with a single melee weapon, that instantly kills. He can penetrate walls, and once per life, teleport to a random person on the map. Scrapped.

Luck: A class where everything about him is a variable. Speed, damage, ect. His weapons can do from 0, to x2 damage, compared to a regular person. He is equipt with an arsenal of guns. Auroras affect him randomly.

Bot Controller: A class that shows mastery over bots. He can summon them to come to his aid, when needed. Can only have four out at a time. Scrapped. Pain in the ass to code.

Some of these classes may be scrapped entirely or changed if balance calls for it.

Edit: Some projects I'm also considering are a survival RPG, sorta like Minecraft or something. I'm not sure about that one. Also, for a bit I was thinking of a school RPG but that'd get boring fast. If you have interest in any of this stuff, tell me.
Edit 2: Since no one really replied to this topic with gamemode ideas, I'm using this OP as a place to jot down the class information as it changes.

All of those sound cool but you actually need a couple normal classes or people will be wary of playing

They'll convert to some of the cooler ones over time, but if they join and everything is bizarre quirks and they'll leave. I would base some of the weapons around Ratchet & Clank because they're designed to feel powerful, unique and fun; clearly realism is not a focus here. Add screenshake when you fire, too, as that can make firing more satisfying.

This reminds me of Weaver from Dota 2.
