it worked completely fine for me, I've used GMG in the past and they work pretty well
you just need to read how the game is given to you, some are given through steam and some are not

the worst thing I've had is getting GTA V for a really good sale but not activating on steam, but it's whatever
after that I've made sure things are given through steam, like bioshock infinite is
