Author Topic: Shot my first deer  (Read 3531 times)

In todays world. You get fresh food from a local farm. We don't hunt and gather anymore for food. Unless you live in the wilderness. I mean seriously, he can eat anything else.
How is killing a deer in the wilderness any different from killing a cow on a farm?

And if you want to pull the "massive depopulation of deer" card well thats what licences, tags, hunting seasons, and game wardens are for.

I'm ok with killing them for food, but um. If you have access to a computer, which means electricity, which somtimes means non-rural. Which means that you have access to another food-source. You can get food at the market, farmers market, or your nearest grocery store :/. Unless you live in the woods and have some sort of Renewable energy source to power your electricity.

So I don't think that killing it for food IN THIS CASE was not very necessary.
*grabs popcorn*
so it's better to get food from an animal that was raised in stuffty conditions since birth and lives it's whole life in like 5 feet of space to eventually be bled out instead of a free animal that was most likely killed instantly when shot

This, plus the point of hunting is population control

Exactly.  When the population of deer gets too high the game wardens will actually restrict hunting to doe's only because the deer are getting so numerous they become a serious hazard on the road.

Also the more deer there are, the more eating of farmers crops there is.  That is when a deer is considered a pest and is the only time when one can be shot out of season.

hunting is what future serial killers partake in

the murder of innocent animals shall not go unnoticed by me

good. show nature who's boss.
