Author Topic: Shot my first deer  (Read 3534 times)

nah I don't but I'm completely on-board with people who do

kangaroos are a massive pest over here, and they're really dangerous to have around in large populations. they can reach 70kph, and like to play silly buggers by jumping out in front of cars. out where I live, there are certain roads we avoid at 5pm+ because there are so many kangaroos.
you should fly me to Aus so we can go on a romantic kangaroo hunt :)

Did you drink it's blood like in that one movie?

When I hunt with my dad, my mom cooks the deer but never eats it for some reason.

I hunt gays, they make good hoagies.

I'm ok with killing them for food, but um. If you have access to a computer, which means electricity, which somtimes means non-rural. Which means that you have access to another food-source. You can get food at the market, farmers market, or your nearest grocery store :/. Unless you live in the woods and have some sort of Renewable energy source to power your electricity.

So I don't think that killing it for food IN THIS CASE was not very necessary.

so it's wrong to want fresh as forget food?

you seem to forget hunting only allowed during certain seasons to also prevent over-population. You can't hunt deer or pheasants year round, doing so will result in huge fines, ranging to thousands of dollars and facing jail time. so it's not just for sport or food, it's for population control.

i plan on getting licenses and certificates so i can go hunting though, i have a huge freezer that needs to be stacked with meat. deer jerky is also really good.

In todays world. You get fresh food from a local farm. We don't hunt and gather anymore for food. Unless you live in the wilderness. I mean seriously, he can eat anything else.

What if I'm curious about what deer tastes like. Someone would have to hunt it because it isn't domesticated.

To be sort of fair though, it is different between a professional hunter who supplies butchers/markets with venison, and someone who goes out and hunts their own deer in their spare time rather than purchases venison from a shop.

But it's also a lot cheaper to hunt a deer for yourself (not including the hunting equipment), if you can. And it's legal.

My girlfriend said she would break up with me if I hunted deer.

So he should be restricted to eat shipped in food just because he has access to it? You know you can't get deer at a store. Nor will you find anything that isn't full of more chemicals than meat.
