Author Topic: Anybody at Georgia Tech?  (Read 887 times)

I'm a long ways away from going to ga tech as a student, but I am here now because a friend is graduating. Anybody else here?

Heard that it's terrible, though good in comparison to GA schools in general

Well, something says that Georgia tech is ranked the 7th best university in America.

maybe it has good teaching, just bad people or something
Pretty much everyone who said it was bad didn't give reasoning
idk, if it looks good to you I'm not stopping ya

Don't base the quality of a university on the testimony of a 13 year old middle school student who says he knows people who probably go there.

Wasent planning on it. There are much more trusted sources that say that ga tech is a great place. Although it may be in not the best place in town... But its still a great school imo

they host the georgia yoyo competition there so it's #1 in my book

I applied to Georgia Tech a couple months ago, and I'll receive a decision in early January.

Basically, Georgia Tech is an extremely rigorous and accomplished engineering school, but there's a huge drinking, party, and athletics culture that fosters a stuffty reputation. Lots of people don't graduate because of that, but if you're serious about your academics, you'll do well there. Imagine MIT but with an ASU-style student culture.

They also send you a neat little toy car in the mail when you submit your application. It's made of paper and you assemble it together with glue and scissors.  :cookieMonster:
