Author Topic: Modifying a vehicle's flight physics to not suck.  (Read 1088 times)

So a lot of people are trying to do something with these three vehicles. They all complain that they're hard to control and they generally suck ect.
Instead of ignoring the problem like an absolute friend I'm taking it upon myself to try and fix these. I can't get in contact with Packer because he's extinct.

Would it be at all possibly to go and find another set of properties for the vehicle and swap bits and pieces out to better the performance? Like for say if i wanted to take the stun plane and just paste it's properties in the tie could i do it?

Edit: The other vehicles are the snowspeeder and X-wing also made by packer.

I saw some of Magus's friends were fixing this themselves just a few weeks ago. I saw them edit the properties of these vehicles right on their own server while it was running. They did some really good improvements. Maybe you should ask them for help.

the main issue is the turning speed and max speed - after adjustment so its not so sluggish people seem to be more satisfied. i'll probably rip some values off the stunt plane which seems to be the gold standard and edit them to fit the vehicles specifications

I actually tried to use the stunt plane as my first source but i may have edited the wrong line. The Tie fighter wouldn't turn.

Because then it wouldn't have physical, rigid properties.

also it would be able to turn on a dime which is eh.

anyways i've done some modifications; they are incompatible with the original versions of the mod so please overwrite them when adding.

x-wing (puush) - mediafire mirror
tie fighter (puush) - mediafire mirror

changes:
max speed x1.9
rolling and pitching speed increased - both are super sensitive but stop almost immediately if you stop moving your mouse/pressing the button
decreased backwards max speed
increased forwards thrust
increased bullet speed to torque max (200) and slightly nerfed explosion
xwing bullet down to 40 from 50
tiefighter bullet up to 60 from 50
tiefighter doesn't have a dummy second seat, xwing still does (where the astromech droid will go)
