Author Topic: Natural Fade to Music  (Read 747 times)

Not sure if this is capable with the capabilities of the game.. but.. here goes.

There you are, casually walking along the street.  It is silent, with the exception of some brick-placing or hammering or.. who knows what.  All of the sudden, you pass an invisible threshold.. KABLAM!  Your ears/speakers are assaulted with some form of musical pish-posh!  It isn't natural.

What I am looking for is some way to have the musical slowly fade in, the closer you get to it.  It's like "oh, what is that music?" Then it slowly increases in volume as you move closer, or quieter as you move away.  The way that sound seems to work in, you know, real life.

Thoughts?  Is this even possible?

you mean a music brick

unless there's something different with the music brick or with the music being played (stereo) then it should be fading in

...Hold the phone, music bricks fade in?  Am I doing something wrong?  I haven't actually been in game for about two years now.  I'll be playing again in about a month.  To my memory, it is always just an instant on or off, with no change in volume..

They do have a fade, but the music brick is set up for a very sharp fade after some distance _and_ badspot is using a half broken decade old version of the audio library...

This sounds like what I've experienced.  Is there any way to change that, or is it a limitation of the engine?
