Author Topic: why the hell won't employers even give me a call back?  (Read 3697 times)

I've always been told to give it a week and call back. The only two jobs I've worked at, they contacted me, and for one of them I was hired upon turning the application in.

Sometimes you really need to buckle down on a job that's really in your interest field, even if it just for something like retail. I applied to Guitar Center about 2-3 months ago, and only just got a call a week ago to come in for some interviews. It was the only place I applied to and I do a lot of work in music, whether it deal with making music itself, or working on guitars in my spare time.

all the jobs I've gotten they called me the day after i put in an application lol

The most bullstuff excuse for not getting hired is because you have no experience. Some entry level jobs actually say you need experience.

Well how the forget can you get experience if no one will hire you.

>tfw any IT or lower level computer science jobs want you to have 4 or 5 years of experience before hiring you

It's pretty stupid unless you go freelance, it's almost backwards to ask for experience at such a low level job.

so a little update, i got an email a few days ago saying they reviewed my application and wanted more information like references. i think that means they're interested.

Wait a few days and then call them back.  It looks good and shows your interest in the position.

It took me 18 months to get my first job, which was (and still is) Hardee's. and I was only hired because someone who worked there recognized my name as someone she knew.

I applied to walmart once and when they called me I forgot I applied because it was like 6 months later.

I know that feeling, and that's how I got my job at Walgreens. They called me over 8 months after I submitted my application.

I worked at Walmart for 2 years and quit without notice. Now I can't use it to say I had experience.
I thought you got fired for stealing
