Author Topic: Australia has (almost) successfully warded off the Liberal Party  (Read 1184 times)

Does this mean that video games will become less regulated in Australia? I know that it's absolutely horrid in the market there at the moment.

I still can't get used to the fact that 'liberal' means the opposite thing in everyone elses governments.

Does this mean that video games will become less regulated in Australia?

From what McJeb said it looks like nothing will change. Sounds to me like the Liberal party just didn't give a forget either way. Considering how much they cut back on everything other government program why would they want to regulate video games of all things?

Looks to me like the Austrailian Green Party is the way to go. It's the most libertarian and that's basically my only gauge for how good a gov't is

So which actual, existent governments do you consider the best?

Honestly I think that every government is a bloated mess; they all suck

I was gonna say, since I can't think of any actual governments that you could safely classify as 'libertarian' lol.

From the Political Compass:

While I'm much more Green than Labour, the Greens are still a small party and most Australians are too scared to vote for anybody who isn't in one of the big two groups.
The labor party is more liberal than the liberal party. Nice.

fight the power

...i don't know what a libertarian is

I like to summarise their views like this:

Labour: I want my gays married, my internet fast and my health care loving awesome.
Liberal: I want my money saved, my arts and culture and medical programs slashed and more people in low-playing non-skilled labour jobs.

Lol in America you would be considered liberal. It's weird how the names are essentially flip flopped

sounds more like a conservative party than a liberal one

Well if your Labour party is like Canada's Liberal party I hope you guys don't have an Australian Trudeau.
