If player owned shops don't generate stock, they'll have to buy it off Non player owned shops and resell it. Having a stocking company sounds a good idea, price fluctuation will make for interesting gameplay.

No, they can 'produce' items using materials, supposingly. That system is something handled not by Area Zones, really. For example, I'll be using a crafting/quest system.

It's just for a little spare change. Drop the items in the store, run off on quest, when you get back, hope someone bought it.

Meh, what would be better is to be able to have one of the automated stores sell your item for you for a small fee.  E.G. If you normally get a 75% return on your item for selling it yourself, you now get a 60% percent return.

Trader, I think you missed the point. Player-owned stores are indeed automated stores. The only difference is that YOU own them.

What's the point of that?  None, really.  Players shouldn't be able to own shops, and there should be some amount of luck and cleverness that goes into purchasing an item from a particular store to get the best price, or selling an item at a particular store to get the best money for your item.

What's the point of life? None, really.

But your idea is pretty good. I like it. I might add it in as a feature. Hm.
