well... probably times new roman. that's like, the normal default font in windows web browsers. monaco may be monospaced, but nothing about the name "Monaco" tells you that, so it'd have no reason to default to a monospaced font

it's worth noting that you can actually define fallbacks in (this forum's version of) BBC though, including the placeholders "serif", "sans-serif", and "monospace"
