The "Damn, Daniel" meme was part of "Normie culture", the kind of subculture that functioning members of society belong to. Because autistic shut-ins who can't function in society love to blame everyone else for their shortcomings, they invented a new kind of ironic meta humor that indirectly references normie memes not because they find the memes themselves funny, but because they find it funny to subtly mock people who enjoy said memes.

To dumb it down, imagine a culture of people who drink milk for entertainment. There is a smaller culture on the internet who post pictures of people drinking milk with captions not because they're entertained by it, but rather they're entertained by the notion that they're mocking the people who drink milk for entertainment.

Take this for example

The "Spell icup" meme was normies making fun of a cliche joke because it was ridiculous. The ironic memers then began to reiterate the joke thinking that the normies actually unironically believed people would fall for the icup joke.
