Author Topic: How to fix audio recording issues with Fraps?  (Read 821 times)

So I am currently having audio recording issues with Fraps where in the in-game audio of games (really, all sound put out on my system that is taken during the recording) is either really loud, shrill and echoing, or its really loud, deep bassed and throbbing so. I have audio issues on my system (Windows 8.1) where in without audio enhancements (they come default with the system) enabled, everything is super bass boosted and sounds very deep/throbbing and hurts my ears. If I have the audio enhancements on it sounds fine, but when I record with it, everything is really shrill and has echos.

How do I fix this? Recording it either way ruins the audio (it's either loud and shrill or has way too much bass). Any recommendations?

Example 1 - Audio Enhancements on

Example 2 - Audio Enhancements off

As you can see, recording either way, the audio sounds awful. I don't know what to do.

So, I told him to go into Realtek HD Audio Manager and turn down format frequency (it was 96k, his headphones are only 22k) and after changing it to 44k hz his headphones went out. Speakers still work.

Probably not a driver issue since it's audio-jack and they worked right before the format change. Even though he changed it back they're still out. They no longer appear in audio-devices (even as disabled or disconnected) and I'm pretty stumped.

start recording with obs

start recording with obs
OBS records even worse. And now that's not even the issue, as Zealot said, I can't even get any sound to play from my headphones at all.

do you have a dedicated sound card?

No idea, here's my computer's specs

Well I got my sound fixed, turns out all I had to do was put my laptop in sleep mode and then take it back out of sleep mode to fix the headphones not working. My computer still doesn't detect that the headphones are there, but at least they work regardless.

Now I'm back to square one. I had to reinstall my driver, and I had to reimplement my equalizer settings and whatnot so the sound is not heavily bass-boosted. Question is, what do I do now? I still have the recording problem with my audio.

Apparently my Windows Media Library is corrupted now too. How to fix?

delete system_32
either System restore or something else, because thats the worst thing that can happen

i have no point to which to system restore
