Author Topic: Recommendations for best gaming footage video editing software?  (Read 670 times)

Here's what I need:
  • A video editing program that can output high-definition video
  • Must have no high color saturation effect when outputting video (windows movie maker does this and its so annoying)
  • If it costs money, it must be a one-time payment program for under $300
  • Must be easy to learn (nothing super complicated, something someone who knows nothing about editing programs could use)

Things i've tried that don't work:
  • Windows Movie Maker
  • Shotcut
  • Free Trial programs (I need something I can keep to use permanently)
  • Open Broadcaster Software

I record with fraps, but I have no idea what kind of editing program I should use. I was looking at Adobe Premiere, but there are no options to just simply buy it, you have to sign up for stupid monthly subscriptions to it. I don't want to do that.

shotcut is free but it may be a little lacking

Shotcut doesn't work, too complicated. Vegas is too expensive.

blender can be used but only for relatively simple editing i think

VEGAS Movie Studio 13 Platinum - Steam Powered this and it's pretty cheap
Bought that, let's hope it works. A lot of user reviews say it has serious crashing problems.

Hitfilm Express is free and does its job well in a relatively simple manner.

when it finishes installing, you gotta into the dir folder and install vmspe130_x64.exe  and then a icon will appear on the desktop and then goto the file location and then copy the "Movie Studio Platinum 13.0" folder to the steam folder (MovieStudioPlatinum130) and then launch. if you don't do this you'll might get an error.

how could shotcut possibly be too complicated, it's nearly as simple as movie maker

seriously like i learned how to use it without any tutorial whatsoever

So far, the best one i've used is CamTasia Studio, but I only had the trial so it lasted like what, a month?

it's also around the 200-300$ mark

Vegas and adobe premier are the best video editing softwares out there. Imovie is also good and comes pre-installed with Mac
