Author Topic: Key Authentication and Different IP's  (Read 936 times)

not sure what board to put this in, as it doesn't really relate to in-game issues rather than an outside issue. but anyways:

i just got a new laptop that i plan on using whenever i dont have access to my desktop.

the key i use for blockland obviously is under this IP address but with the laptop, my key would be switching back and forth between this IP and the other IP address.

now im not sure about the exact details of everything but I'm pretty sure frequent switches in IP addresses create a red flag on the key and can lead to deactivation. do i need to just email badspot or is this okay as long as the IP changes aren't linked with malicious behavior (key-sharing, etc..) even though IP changes can create the false illusion of key sharing.

I also have a brother who is in the same situation but of course has a different key.

i honestly dont know how all this works in my 8 years on this game so if someone could explain to me i would appreciate it.

You'll be fine. I use mine in a couple different locations.

Even if it's switching back and forth between australia and russia every 5 minutes you should be fine. I think the IP thing is only used if there's already suspicion of key sharing on record.

Alright i guess that answers my question - thanks!
