Author Topic: New Muppets Character with Autism debuting  (Read 1187 times)

It's a modern children's education show, why wouldn't they have stuff about autism?

i thought it was sesame street

finally a character i can relate to

i think it's great that they're representing a population to kids at a young age that they may not be exposed to until they're old enough to make quick judgments against them. i know i don't really know how to act when i'm around kids my age with autism or down syndrome or other similar disorders, and i just kinda lock up, and if i had been helped to accept them as a younger kid id have no trouble today. this might help with the stigma against mental illness in a great way

dee butt ing? what kind of word is that

might not actually be a problem.

Maybe it might be as successful of an idea as this one was.
