How TF did I miss this topic I'm all over internet privacy
This is one issue on which I completely side with Democrats. People using the internet should have the right to privacy. The government does not collude with your local library to find out what books you are reading or have on your shelf. They just as much should not be allowed to find out what you search for or watch on the internet. That should be private information.
i know, i really wanted you to contribute too lol
Welp, it passed 50-48. It's not completely through yet, but if it doesn't get blocked somewhere else along the way it'll become law and the FCC won't be able to block ISPs from collecting your data and selling it to literally anyone for a profit. One day you google "alcoholics anonymous phone number" and the next day your life insurance premiums double. Get ready for the future guys, your illusion of privacy (As if they'll actually follow the rules) will come at the price of a 30% opt-out surcharge. Also, here's a list of all 50 senators who voted for this pile of trash. If they're in your state, please, give them a call and tell them what a crappy decision they've made. It only takes a few seconds to google:Senator Rubio (R-FL)
