i've had veggy patties before and the ones we have here stink... not even like beef.
they don't have the texture or moistness of beef and taste really off, like it's not hamburger meat or it's mixed with something so i can't really get into it
Well, a 'veggie pattie' is different than soy. It's not usually trying to mimic a particular meat. However, you're absolutely right that there is
terrible tofu out there in the world, especially at Asian restaurants. Soft spongy tofu makes me want to . It tastes like mold. This is very common because its cheap and low-effort to produce (and low-demand as well) but certain cities and resteraunts will have better tofu than others. The McDonalds McLean burger was scientifically proven to be indistinguishable from a standard (higher calorie) burger, and Pei Wei has hard sauteed chicken-soy that genuinely tastes better than the real chicken (from people who I've sampled it with). I'm not saying it's practical to completely replace your meat consumption with soy (especially not in rural areas), but it should be possible to mimic the meats of certain animals flawlessly in the near future.
chickens are very cute. I like to pick them up. They are soft.
Especially the little ones. My neighborhood is covered with ducks (who are mean and stuff everywhere) but the little ones are extremely fluffy and adorable. Sometimes they get stuck because they aren't big enough to climb up the curb, and you have to lean down and held them up. They're not all that different from baby chicks.
