It's useful for finding things, sure. And it's situational. But it has nothing to do with this topic and isn't useful for youtube.
I was making a comparison, and besides it can be useful and situational if you're trying to find a specific comment.

The difference here is that being able to search and parse through text on a webpage is arguably more vital than highlighted text.

No, if you're trying to find a specific comment you scroll. If you can't find it from scrolling, you probably won't find it from Ctrl F because youtube has chunk loading of comments.
