sounds like shadowplay is exactly the same as the windows 10 built in game bar thing?
or is there a benefit to using one over the other (I have both, just wondering if I should look into shadowplay)

idk what the windows 10 feature does and doesn't have but shadowplay also lets you chose the duration to save, encoding quality, record mic, camera overlay, take screenshots, and do neat stuff like stream directly to twitch or youtube

it's hardware accelerated so it has a minimal impact on performance

Get a 1050 ti lol
hes on a budget and the 1050 will handle the games he wants to play just fine.

Get a 1050 ti lol
For the games he plays and his needs (shadowplay), a 1050ti is too OP

For playing basic games and some potential AAA gaming and shadowplay, a GTX 1050 is perfect
