The thing that set Europe on the right track was the Greek rhetorical tradition, which led to Roman law and clerical practices, leading to a moral legacy from the Church, the Age of Reason, Scientific Revolution, Industrial Revolution, and so on. If Africa had that legacy, its rich mineral resources and vast lands would have made it a breeding ground for superpowers long ago and well into the future.
