Author Topic: [NEWS] Nintendo finds new uses for cardboard with Labo  (Read 4951 times)

Just because something is made of wood doesn't mean it is flammable lol.

There are anti flammable measures to wood furniture.
Such as furnishes perhaps? I can see why something such as a furnish/polish can make wood not light so easily, not for a while at least.

Nintendo revealed more about the Labo yesterday detailing how the software works:

Toy-Con 01: Variety Kit
Showcases the different Toy-Con games and modes:
1. RC Car, it moves via rumble of which the intensity can be modified and has a night-vision camera which can auto-pilot itself to different sources.
2. Fishing, dip your hook into the ocean and catch some fish whether they be at the top of the ocean or at the bottom.
3. Aquarium, any fish caught in the Fishing mode can be found here and custom fish can be created for use in the Fishing mode.
4. House, the tamagotchi-like pet who lives in it of which can be cared for, interacted with, and played with. Also has the ability to connect to another house to visit another user's pet.
5. Motorbike Circuit, 6 player races on 3 GPs with 3 courses each along with a custom course and GP creator (Uses IR camera to create custom terrain, Gyroscope to create track design, along with options for time of day, weather, water level, track width, pickups, etc.)
6. Motorbike Stadium, a balloon score attack of sorts which is also has the ability for custom courses/stadiums.
7. Toy Piano, a working piano with customizable tones and an acoustic mode which plays notes via HD Rumble.
8. Studio Mode, modify the sound of the piano further by adjusting the envelope, reverb, octave range, etc. Custom waveforms and rhythm patterns via cards can be scanned and played back to be used in conjunction with the piano to create your own music.
9. Toy-Con Garage, a visual programming interface where you can create your own Labo creations and programs or modify the existing ones from the kit.

Toy-Con 02: Robot Kit
Showcases 6 different modes:
1. The Hangar, where you can customize the look of your robot.
2. Robo-Studio, a mode where the Switch will make sounds corresponded by the actions you do.
3. VS Mode, a fighting game variant where you can fight someone else locally who also has their own Robot Kit.
4. Robot Mode, an open sandbox city where you're graded with a score based on how much destruction you caused within the time limit.
5. Challenge Mode, you take on missions and specific tasks to unlock new/stronger abilities which can be used in the Robot mode.
6. Calories? They didn't show this off in the video, but I'd assume it's an exercise trainer similar to Wii Fit or probably just something that counts up your calories.

There was a good amount of info given and the Variety Kit looks like it has way more than what most people have expected. It surely has passed being just a tech demo at this point and the Toy-Con Garage will ensure way more replayability along with pushing this product into STEM territory. The Robot Kit doesn't seem as full as it should be though which is odd since that one should be the fullest game considering its standalone. If a couple of challenges and a score attack mode on one stage is the main part of the game I can see it mainly being a novelty and something you'll get tired off in an hour or so. Hopefully that isn't true and there's more to it than what it seems.

seriously the fishing rod music composer you can make in toy con garage will become the next big mario paint composer
