Except permabanned users still can use their key and play the actual game and do the same stuff on the game (so long as it isn't a revokeable offense), and come right back on an alt if they get banned from a particular server.
We're talking about the forums, the game is a different case, the people that left were mostly, if not entirely, active on the forums
That and the fact that there are so many other outlets for "toxic" users to find people to harass, like discord and glass make this a moot point now.
In these situations, it would have to be up to the person to fend for themselves since it's out of Badspot's control, but again, this is specifically the forums we're talking about
The people who left the forums that i'm still in contact with have told me that they left because the
forums became toxic, and that Badspot allowed people to get away with things that would normally be rule breaking, they rarely mentioned anything about being harassed via Discord, Glass, or anywhere else
Too little too late, they should've enforced their rules better to begin with and now they're just playing favorites.
This is true, though this rule is being re-enforced, we've already lost a large portion of the community because Badspot stopped enforcing the rules at some point
But i try to be positive about these things, so while we do still have a community left, it's better late than never
