Author Topic: [Tutorial] Setting up QuArk  (Read 3642 times)

This is for people who have QuArk installed but don’t know how to set it up for Blockland or other Torque games.

1. Launch QuArk and click on Games then Click on Torque (It’s the same as Blockland), then reclick Games then click on Config (Configuration).

2. A new window should pop up with “---Game Settings---“ at the top, change the Torque Converter  to “map2dif_DEBUG.EXE” without the Quotes.

3. Scroll down to Output Map Format and change it to “Valve 220” without the Quotes.

4. Download my map2dif.zip then goto your Blockland directory e.g. C:\Program files\Blockland\ and make a Folder called QuArk, then open map2dif.zip then extract the file inside to the newly made QuArk folder. (You will be using this)

5. Scroll down to 1st Program; we need to change the Directory. In the …program executable (path optional) box put “C:\Program Files\Blockland\QuArk\map2dif_DEBUG.exe” or the Directory that your map2dif is (Without Quotes).

6. Do step 5 for 1st Program to 6th Program and 9th Program.

7. Scroll back up to the top to Directory of the Torque Files and change it to “C:\Program Files\Blockland\QuArk\” (Without the Quotes)

8. Hit Apply, then Ok.

Use this if you are a little lost:

Putting your Maps into Blockland:
1. All of your Files will be exported to C:\Program Files\Blockland\QuArk\, it should have 2 folders when you've exported some thing. One has the textures you used and the other has the level.dif and level.map.
2. Copy or Cut yourmapname.dif and put it into Blockland\base\data\interiors\, do the same with the textures you have used unless you've used the textures in the interiors folder.

Packer, nice guide, the only problem i'm having is your URL shortcut to mediafire, it throws an error.

That's because I posted it a year ago, most likely got removed.

Ok, I didn't realise that lol. So what do I do?

I've updated it and the link should work again, make sure you read though it again.

QuArk's always been way too confusing for me :3

When I click on "Create a .pak file with already built maps" I get this error:

Is ther something I need to fix this, or am I supposed to do something else cuz im a noob lol.

* You say "plz" because it's shorter than "please", I say "no" because it's shorter than "yes"*

Impossible to create the directory 'C:\Program Files\Blockland\QuA
rk\tmpQuArK'. Be sure you entered the path to Torque correctly in the configurat

I've only used Versions up to 6.5., may have some thing to do with 6.6, also you really don't need to use .pak files.

Well "Create a pak file" and "just play!" are the only two options

I figured out my "Blockland" wasn't under "Program files" for some reason, I changed that to just blockland, then QuArK. I even changed it on the first, sixth, and nineth things. After that all it does it pop up a box saying, "Operation Terminated".
