You play against a computer. You can change your pieces' color and the computer's time to think about the moves. I've only won 1 game on 1/10 second think time; the AI is very well programmed.

Any chess players wanna try this?

What do you want me to try exactly? its chess

Wait what, it just moved the king right down and took me

What happened to protecting your king?

So i think it checked my king but i couldn't move it. Or any other pieces. So i guess i lost

It tells you if you're under checkmate so you'd know if you lost

If you can't play chess then this won't teach you it, that's for sure

That's player vs player

This is against a computer

but its always funner playing against a person then a cpu :3

Both ways teach you totally different things. After playing a dozen matches I'm being a lot more careful than I was playing against my brother.

Well chess is a game about thinking :P

This will install the classic chess program from earlier versions of windows. I only every played it on windows 95, although the about section says it was published in 92, which would mean you could have played it on 3.1 as well.

In any case, it remains the only chess game I've ever played on a computer, and it probably will be the only one. It does everything I need it to, and it is free.

I still like playing on a real board better though.

Oh, hey, topic is about multiplayer online chess.
