Graphics card questions

Alright, I have a couple questions because I know like nothing about graphics cards and hoping to buy the VCP+Gmod sometime.
1.)Would an ATI Raedon X1250 be able to run all of Valve's games+Gmod at minimum at least?
2.)If not, is it possible to get a better graphics card installed into my laptop?
Edit: Thanks for the link Packer. Also, I looked through the requirements of Left4Dead, Half-Life Episode 2, and TF2, so I should be able to run most stuff on low/medium. Locking.

2. No, unless you use one of those new age USB graphics cards.
