Problems with downloading a game on Steam

Well, I got Grand Theft Auto IV for PC and I've been installing it over the days. The game finally finished installing and now it's been updating. However, whenever it gets to 20% - 40%, it resets. If anyone knows why, please tell me how to fix it. If you have nothing to say but "Dude, that sucks", don't comment. I will hit you.

Right click and if it says start update click it, if it says Pause update then sorry, IDK. I had the stupid problem of that.

It is updating. It just randomly stops and goes to 0% at times. Right now it is at 33%. I believe it may work this time.

Anyways, the update suddenly finished at random and the game works.
