Author Topic: I just got a new sound card.  (Read 1048 times)

I just went to Wal-mart, and picked up one of these because my onboard audio was out, and I was using a 10 year old card for sound.

Everything sounds so clear and crisp. :o

Lol, I just tried to play a song, and it was delayed by about 10 seconds. The bass startled me when it started. :D

THIS IS BULLstuff. I loving update the stuff and it blue screens and the loving goddamn sound card doesn't even work anymore.

Holy loving stuff, nothing can ever loving work for me. Ever.

Mood change from first to second post.

You'd be pretty pissed too if you're loving poor, and you get something that works, and it absolutely blows you away, and then it stops working 10 minutes later.

I am never going to buy a loving MSI motherboard product again. The piece of stuff doesn't even boot half the time. And when it does, it tosses stuff in my face like right now.

"good things rarely come and never last"

I just don't get it though. All you do is plug it into a vacant PCI slot, and it works.

I'm going to have to blame this stuff motherboard (again) on this one.

Especially how the onboard sound died, one of the two case usb plugs doesn't work, It has a hard time booting, most of the screwholes are mis-aligned, and a bunch of other stuff in general doesn't work. The damn thing barely fits into its model-specific faceplate.

Knowing that the onboard sound was dead and had no hopes of being fixed by anything, I contacted tech support just to see what they would say. I told them I used several distros of Linux, and several versions of Windows.

They said it was a driver issue and directed me to the drivers I told them I had already used.

Damn thing decided to magically start working again.

I'm just going to avoid touching anything related to drivers and do some kind of crazy ritual to keep it running.

do you have an older computer? 'cause one thing you cant do is use a brand new piece of hardware(sound/video card etc.) on an old computer/motherboard.

Everything is new.

Also all the fancy software Creative brags about isn't working. :U

Whatever, sound works. And it's crisp and not going static, so I guess I'm pretty content in that sense.

Sorry for all the anger and drama.

But seriously, I can't stand this damn motherboard. If I had the funds, I would switch it in a heartbeat. I'd also replace the case because any extension cards I add I have to remove the faceplate from for them to fit.

I have an MSI board and it works like a charm. The one you got was just the crappy cheap one lol.

Yeah, this build is a gift from my mom's side of the family. Uncles chose a part bundle from Tigerdirect and I got this motherboard, which is my only real complaint besides the case not fitting extension faceplates.

what board is it?

Why would anyone buy a micro atx? Also good boards tend to not have onboard video
