Can't run Windows 7 in VirtualPC?

I have 2 GB... :C and I was thinking about buying windows 7.

Oh my god, good story, so I used to have a pc, but it fried... so I've been using my mom's and she yells at me to stop "putting stuff on her computer" and I say "my computer is broken" and she goes "well you already have one, mine!"

UPDATE: I got it working with 400MB(barely) but the drivers for my wireless PCI adapter wont work on Windows 7 HALP

This is a disaster! so I got an old HDD and I installed it, but now the IDE cables wont reach the cd drive and the HDD at the same time, can I just install it onto an External?
