Author Topic: Can't run Windows 7 in VirtualPC?  (Read 1786 times)

Ok, so I'm trying to run windows 7 in virtualpc, because I don't have any discs big enough to install on me, so I set the RAM to the minimum 512MB, (I have 766MB) but when I set it to that, it says that the host computer doesn't have enough RAM? Why?

probably not enough ram needed for the program

does virtual RAM count? I got 1024MB

Just go buy a DVD.  Why emulate an OS (unless you are testing software and you dont want to put your computer at risk)?  I dont get it.

Cuz my mom says that "she paid for this computer" and she "doesn't want me to break it"

partition ftw

I know, but then she's like "I dont want it using memory on my hard drive" and, why install it if I'm not goin to buy it?

tell her stuff gets outdated and you need to go buy a new one.

7 needs what, 4gb.

Not of ram, HD space, Silly.

Try a basic Linux .iso in Virtual PC.
If you still get the error, it's your computer.
Else, Windows 7 requires more than what you put in your virtual pc settings.

It's your moms' computer get your own you loving selfish twit.

Oh my god, good story, so I used to have a pc, but it fried... so I've been using my mom's and she yells at me to stop "putting stuff on her computer" and I say "my computer is broken" and she goes "well you already have one, mine!"

UPDATE: I got it working with 400MB(barely) but the drivers for my wireless PCI adapter wont work on Windows 7 HALP
