Author Topic: Source SDK problem (Some games not showing up)  (Read 1170 times)

Though Face Poser (Which comes with Source SDK, for those who don't know) won't work well with Vista, i'd still like to find out this problem with Source SDK, i have the Orange Box (HL2's, Portal and Team Fortress 2), and Counter Strike Source, but i only have two Engine Versions (Orange Box and Episode One) and for Orange Box, i have only Team Fortress 2 and Episode One, i only have Counter Strike Source and Half Life 2 Deathmatch, where is Half Life 2 and such? D:

On the XP Computer, i only have Garry's Mod, Synergy, Team Fortress 2 and Synergy installed (Cause it can play those more than anything, but it still can't play it without slowing down), and to get Half Life 2 on Source SDK's list of games to choose from, i had to install it and play a level or two to get it working (Which surprisingly, HL2 works better than all the other games)

Tl;dr: Source SDK won't show some games even though i have The Orange Box installed

Did you have all games installed on it or not? It may have a problem with only working off of some games.

You need to have the Source SDK Base - Orange Box something or other.

I had the same problem.

You need to have the orange box SDK pack something or other.

I had the same problem.
See, I have been wondering about what I should download. So i should, if I have OB, download the orange box SDK?

Try refreshing the games and tools tab, if the problem is not fixed try contacting tech support or wait for someone with more expirence.

I have all games installed on the Vista computer (HL2's, HL's, CS, TF2)

I tried that, nothing fixed

How2refresh?

Also, i tried reinstalling Source SDK, still same problem

I only have HL2, TF2, and CS on the XP computer (Excluding Gmod and Synergy cause those aren't Source SDK compatible) yet i see HL2 Ep 1 and 2 and Deathmatch, when i shouldn't be seeing them cause they're not installed on the XP computer, i should be seeing them on the Vista computer! >:(

Edit
Hmm, if i had to play a level of HL2 on this XP computer to get it working for Source SDK, maybe i need to do the same for HL2, HL2 Ep 1 and 2 on the Vista computer to get it working! :o

There 2 methods. The first one is to restart your PC, then you should see it. The other method is very annoiying and complicated.
Step by step Complicated way:
step A-D. Launch a steam game(HL, or any other valve game that loads fast), once you get in the game, go into a server and open the the console, with that type status and press return/enter, copy your steam id and save that for steps 1-4.
step 1. Launch steam
step 2. Go to your profile
step 3. Edit your profile
step 4. paste your steam id into the steam id field, Make sure STEAM is included with the numbers.
step 5. Go to games or tools and do what you do

Well, i posted a topic on the Steam forums and don't seem to be getting any help so.... Bump

Edit: What part of the status thing do i put in? I tried editing the part with my name and STEAM thing and it kept giving me errors ._.
