My thoughts exactly. I have a feeling he doesn't know how to change which direction doors open, that's all I can think of.

nah, he's dumb like my sister, lemme give you a hint: in the events menu for the doors, one of the events have a CW and a CCW parameter, change those to make them open clockwise or counter clockwise

I can think up about 5 differnt kinds of those doors

Metal Inverted
Wood Inverted
Glass Inverted
Stone Inverted
Hatch Inverted

Or you can call them ramp doors.
