Author Topic: The Neverhood  (Read 1118 times)

I was rummaging through my pile of old PC games I found today and found Dreamwork Interactive's "The Neverhood" and it instantly brought back memories. I remember being stuck on a certain level and how I would usually just watch my brother play it, so I decided to start a new game of it today and I realized just how awesome this game is.

So basically this game is of a claymation figure (You) being pretty much alone in a claymation island in the middle of space (Supposedly the first planet/island ever) because some bad guy decided to take this kings crown that created people before there was really anybody (Other than the bad-guy, the king and you) and put the king in some sort of cage. You're basically supposed to defeat the bad-guy and take the crown from him.

I'm sort of doubting alot of you have this game, let alone heard of it so... :l

That looks epic.

I haven't seen it before but I've seen games like it. What system?

Windows XP, 98 and 95. There's also a PSone sequel to this called "Skullmonkeys".

Cool, I'm going to check it out.

Also, nice avatar.

Goes for $49.99 used on Amazon.com, $139.00 new.
Apparently this is a rare game :o

Thanks.

I heard this game is pretty rare because only 40,000 copies were made I think.

That's probably fake. Trust me, I've seen so many 6-11 year olds go onto random movie sites and post fake movies and they think it's "creative".

Upcoming feature film

Doug TenNapel wrote in March 2007 to his official forum that he is in talks with a producer about making a movie based on the Neverhood world. Frederator Studios later remarked that they would be working with Doug TenNapel on the film.

A June 25 Variety article confirmed that The Neverhood would be one of the first projects of the newly formed Frederator Films, a company formed for the purpose of creating animated feature films budgeted under $20 million. The IMDB entry of the film suggests that it will be released in 2011.

Well don't that beat all. I'm going to see it right away once it comes out. I really would love to see it when it does become a movie.

Funfact: This game used 3 tons of clay.
