Author Topic: Getting a laptop.  (Read 1762 times)

Finally, I'm getting a laptop.
I need some suggestions on a good Gaming Laptop.
I'm getting it tonight, so..
My budget is 1,000$ and I need some suggestions to buy a good one. It has to be able to run Fallout 3 at least at Medium graphics. If we can't find a good gaming laptop, likely going to get a new PC for when I'm at my Dad's house.
So, any suggestions?

No such thing as a good gaming laptop for $1000.

You can get a good laptop for 1000 but it will be sub-par as far as games are concerned.

I'm getting a expensive gaming computer for Christmas. :D

I am getting a new graphic's card lol.

Oh, you do that too?

Guys, I'm talking a nice Gaming Laptop at all.
I'm not going to the extreme of a gaming laptop.
I'd have to say I found a few that can run Fallout 3. Problem is, it's $99.99 over the budget, and my dad is strict D:
However, an ATI 3200 laptop can run Fallout 3 simply well.

My brother got one for about $1,000 it runs Fallout at medium.  It's an HP something or another.

The ATi HD 3200 graphics card is not very good.

It can RUN fallout at Low, at least..
Anyway, the reason I want a laptop that can support Fallout 3 is because my dad promises me if the laptop is under $1,000 he'll buy me Fallout 3.

You know what, I just happened to find a pretty nice laptop that costs $849, and has a graphics card that's about 2x better than the ATi Radeon HD 3200.

Anywhere to get it in-store? My dad doesn't really want to order the laptop on newegg, no loving idea why.

Nope.
Unless you want it with the stuffty Intel GMA 4500MHD, which won't even run Fallout 3.

Yeah, I have that on this laptop, which is my sister's, and it's terrible.

Hmm... time for Windows Laptop searcher. :)

It's a Gateway computer, epic for gaming, just weigh about, 9.1 LBS.

EDIT: Also, with a $1000 budget, that computer is about $900. so you could probably buy a game or a headset if your dad allowed it. :O
