Author Topic: Getting a laptop.  (Read 1767 times)

Finally, I'm getting a laptop.
I need some suggestions on a good Gaming Laptop.
I'm getting it tonight, so..
My budget is 1,000$ and I need some suggestions to buy a good one. It has to be able to run Fallout 3 at least at Medium graphics. If we can't find a good gaming laptop, likely going to get a new PC for when I'm at my Dad's house.
So, any suggestions?

Hello
1. Don't get dell
2. The more RAM the better for gaming
3. The more cores in the processor the better but I don't know anything about processors
4. $1000 will get you a really nice computer. :D

I think you should rather get a pretty good and fast netbook than to look for a "gaming" laptop.

Get a Alienware computer.

Dell works fine for me.
2. The more RAM the better for gaming
I have 3 gigs of RAM and it doesn't really run memory-intensive games too good. You're going to need a good graphics card too.

I have a Duo Core, and it's pretty good. a Quad Core would be awesome, but I'm not sure if it comes with laptops.

Get a Alienware computer.
Or in that case, build a loving desktop to use as a laptop, it will be more portable!

:P
I bet he's already left. :( I see him online.

EDIT: BTW Lil, I'm jealous right now. :( My sister has a laptop, but it sucks, my dad has a epic gaming PC, and I get an old computer, the best I get are parts from my dad's computer. Thankfully, I'm getting a expensive gaming computer for Christmas. :D

Alienware is stuff.

No matter how much flashy 'super cool flash 8' effects they throw into their ads the laptops still suck and fall apart within days.

Unless you're willing to pay $2000+ for a laptop that could be just $1000 without the stufftiness and bloatware, and willing to send it to Dell lots of times to get it fixed, go ahead.

Lol.

Gateway computers are bad either, I have a Gateway PC(the one I use) and it's lasted for about 5 years without breaking. Even in 5 years, it still plays a lot of new games. :)

What is wrong with Dell?

My computer is a Dell, and it has never shut down/broke in 5 years.

There's your problem.
I'd prefer a desktop PC for gaming.
