Scientist have an age they guess that the universe was started, to the best of their ability to look at the current evidence today. However, their is no way to prove that the universe didn't suddenly appear with all the previous history as fake (though this is dismissed by atheist scientist as improbable), nor is there to proof that God didn't take several billions years to make the universe.
