Author Topic: Multiple name groups  (Read 673 times)

Hey, I've been thinking of how much I needed this: Putting multiple names on bricks. I know, it sounds stupid. But it'd be useful for when you have a LOT of bricks, and on one event, you want it to do event X on all of them. Then, you want to do event Y on all but 3. Dilemma. So, the basic idea here is, I want to be able to put multiple names on bricks. Maybe a drop-down menu? That would be freaking EPIC if somebody did this, IMO. Thanks!

Huge bump, I starting thinking about this again.

Wait, are you too lazy to make one more replica event?

Or am I not getting it?

He's saying that he wants X events on, say, 10 bricks, but he wants Y events to happen to only 5 of the 10 bricks.

Name half the bricks "X" and half the bricks "Y".

onActivate -> Named Brick: X -> First Events
onActivate -> Named Brick: Y -> First Events
onActivate -> Named Brick: Y -> Second Events

Space Guy, sometimes it's not that easy. What if you're making a computer, with a big moniter (somebody on my server attempted this, and failed because there were too many to work the events to) of say, 10x8 (Across and down, not a brick type) of 1x1 flat studs. You want to be able to turn it on and off (whole screen black, on is some icons and a start bar at the bottom). This makes it hard.

Never try to sound smarter than space guy, He'll forget up your stuff brotha.

I wasn't trying to, nor do I care if I do.

It'll be even harder or confusing for the majority of people to set up this multiple names per brick. One is easier to understand.

Why would that be? It could maybe have a popup menu (think events)? I was thinking multiple boxes, but that'd get too big. I don't understand why it'd be confusing...

The events system if fine. Eventing a computer isn't supposed to be easy.

Make a activate button. Make brick X's events instead of onactivate, ake them onrelay.

Onactivate - Named Brick (X) - Firerelay,
