The first pokemon game most of you should be able to remember playing is Sapphire/Ruby, maybe Sliver and Gold.

I remember getting and playing Red version a few days/weeks after it came out.

I remember playing Pokemon Silver as my first Pokemon game after watching the series. Then I went on to research Pokemon and the games. I've played them all and am waiting for HeartGold and SoulSilver to come out in the US. I used to be utterly obsessed with Pokemon, yet now I still love Pokemon. I can name all 493. *twitch*

That's insane. I remember the original 150/1, with a few from the Gold/Silver generation.

I started off hating pokemon yellow, then I realized you can have all 3 starter pokemon without trading. Then I got happy.

Steeringontopic: G/S was, hands down, the best version for me. Everything after that made an obvious statement that the series was going downhill.
