If you're looking for a media player you can run over with your car and the media player will still play music, you'll have a long wait, amigo.
From my experience, Apple makes some stuff that can take quite a bit of punishment without injury. (My dad dropped his iPhone on a cement floor, and it didn't have a scratch on it/worked fine). However, I have yet to see an electronic device that won't break after constant misuse. My advice? Don't drop your media player, and it won't break.
