My guess is you fell for one of those completely obvious fake steam pages and typed in your account and password, and your e-mail password was probably the same as your steam password.

How did they get your information?

Either you had a weak password/email, accidentally gave it out on an unofficial Steam website, or someone was really determined to mess with you.

I'm highly doubtful of the first, considering your username on here, and of the 3rd.
