no one is answering my loving question, I don't care if its illegal, look at torrents, limwire and things like that, they're all illegal (if your download software which you'd usually pay for) I wanna hack into my ipod & change themes and stuff. (and get free apps) my cousins done it but he has the ipod touch 2G.

btw i found something called pwnage tool (a less buggy, mac only iphone/ipod touch hack), although it doesn't work with ipod touch 3rd gen YET

jailbreaking gives you access to extra things, like another app store, the ability to use the phone more like a computer (e.g. SSH) and possibly hacked apps and files in the iphone.

unlocking- might as well have hacked straight into a dev computer and copied every single file put into the phone.

i jailbroke my iphone, and there really is no need to steal those apps because they are unreliable, and there are a stuffload of free, useful, jailbroken only apps, like folders. (i got a falling sand game, and never realized it was actually in the app store :c)

or how about you just jailbreak it with 3.1.2 3.1.3 just adds a couple of bug fixes that you really don't need. Now when iPhone 3.2 or 4.0 comes out you will want to know how to jailbreak, Try the forums i usually am on (www.xsellize.com) It's a iPhone/Itouch jailbreaking community. Plus if the itouch is 3rd gen the jailbreak will have to be tethered that means if you ever reboot your ipod you have to run the jailbreak service again.
