Author Topic: How much does a decent gaming computer cost?  (Read 1849 times)

Well I'm tired of this mac, and my laptop being gay, and not being able to play any thing.
I am not computer smart, and do not know any thing about computers.

I just want something decent, that can run something like Tf2 on a high setting.

So any suggestions?

6-700
minimum
however if you want a SUPER computer and flashyness
it'll cost 2300 at maximum

Link me?

you'd have to build it/go to tiger direct to build it.
pick out good parts

Can't build, I have no basic knowledge of computers, or what I need to build one.

I would suggest saving $1000 - $1500 and buying a desktop for 800 or 900 and a good laptop for car rides.

lolwut?  I've spent $3000 already and it's not even finalized.  I still need the i7-980x and the GTX 480 to come out.  Before you call it wasteful, I do plan on posting a build log soon to show where the money went.

im talking if he makes a fresh build
you probably made a good build, then upgraded it as time went on

Nope, completely fresh build.  You'll see it soon, I bought an i7 920 to get it setup and stuff, so I'll have the build log out in a week or so.

For a great gaming computer you can build it for less than $1000

What Mobo do you have?

Those 1366 boards are expensive in the first place.

edit: I hope to god that your bitch is watercooled

around 2000$ if you want to play good games.
