Please remember, those of you applying, that nothing you build has to be extravagant by any means. I feel like a lot of you are overlooking what Colleagues is truly looking for in designers.
Nothing you design or create has to be original by any means, either. We don't ask that you to invent a new "function" for every new building you create, we simply ask that you to find a new design to apply, but within realistic means.
What I'm really trying to say here is: don't hesitate when building. If you want to build a corner cafe, go on ahead. If you want to build a motel by the riverside, go on ahead. If you just feel like making a street side building with no real purpose or meaning, go on ahead.
What I'm also trying to say is: don't base everything you add to your building off of fear of what we may or may not like. We encourage you to explore new designs, new techniques! That's what being a designer is all about! Do this, and I assure you that you'll eventually find the design that does the eye good.
We want you to be you. If you're not ready for us yet, we won't shove you off. Just keep trying, please.
Thank you to everyone who has found interest in applying! Merry Christmas, and happy holidays.
